Missions
General Assembly & Church of the Firstborn, Marianni, Haiti
Our mission: Our church, General Assembly Church, in Hohenwald, Tennessee, owns a mission compound in Marianni, Haiti in the community of Carrefour which includes a church & a school. Our mission is to have a place where King Jesus is glorified and His Kingdom principles are lived & taught. It is our heart to see young leaders trained to take their place in the family, the church and the community.
Our School: At this time, we have grades K - 12 which are in operation from September through the month of June. The school operates 190 days per year at least 4 hours per day, from 7:00 am to 12:30 pm.
There is a huge gap between the children's lives at school and in their communities. The school is a safe haven and a place of peace and stability. It is like heaven on earth!
It takes $200 dollars to send a child to school in Haiti for an entire year, this includes books, supplies, uniforms and one meal per day. The average yearly income for a Haitian is $250 US, the parents cost to send the child to school is $50 for books, the school provides the rest for a cost of $150 US. Many children are unable to go to school because of the parents inability to come up with their portion of the fees. We would love to change that with your assistance.
